Pastor Appreciation Day

Sunday is Pastor Appreciation Day and even though Phil is not in the role of an official pastor I would like to honor him. He has dedicated his life to working with students for over 18 years whether through missions, camp, or a local church. He has dedicated many hours to students not for himself but for the Lord. God called him to this position. At this moment Phil is full-time at Seminary and plans to graduate in May with his Master’s of Christian Education with an emphasis in student ministry. Phil’s service is not over yet and he plans as long as God calls him to work with students after seminary.

Phil- Thank you for your dedication to students. You have been a blessing in my life as I have watched you minister to students. I know you are going to be a wonderful father and I love you.

It's a Girl!

We had our 21 week ultrasound today and sure enough it is a Girl! Phil really wants to have Daddy's little girl and it looks like he will have that. Everything was normal. The ultrasound tech said she has long skinny feet. The long feet take after me and the skinny feet take after her daddy. The picture I posted is from the side profile of her face. She is already cute! She weighs about 14 ounces right now. We have a name picked out but I am not ready to say that will be the name. I still want to look at other names. We will have another ultrasound at 32 weeks.

17 weeks

I am officially 17 weeks pregnant. We had a doctor’s appointment Wednesday and heard the heartbeat, which is a good sign. I am beginning to feel some movement! It should pickup more by 20 weeks. Phil and I have an ultrasound on September 7th at the Parinatal Diagnostic Center. There they will do a thorough ultrasound due to a 3% higher chance to have a child with a birth defect due to the chromosome abnormality that I have. We should also be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I will keep you posted.

14 weeks

Today marks 14 weeks pregnant. I am beginning to get less and less nervous. I am finally showing. I may get brave and a take a picture and post it. It has been really neat.

The last several weeks I have been on a shopping spree buying maternity clothes. I start back to school in a week so I needed some summer clothes. I have found some really good deals. I never knew maternity clothes were so cute! I have already started wearing the clothes because they are so comfortable.

I am starting to feel the pressure to get organized and get everything ready for this little baby. Phil and I are both very excited and can't wait until January. Right now our due date is January 20th.

We have started discussing names. We are already having a hard time agreeing with a name. Do you have any suggestions? Post a name or e-mail a name. We need all the ideas we can get.

13 weeks

It’s good news again! Dr. Youkilis had no trouble finding the heartbeat today. Phil and I both heard it. It is amazing how God creates life! We have officially made it to the 2nd trimester. I will go back to see the doctor at 17 weeks. Then at 21 weeks we will have an ultrasound to determine the gender. If you believe the rate of the heartbeat can determine if it is a girl or a boy then we are having a girl. We’ll see if this is accurate in 8 weeks.
